Tobias and his Fish

This is the scene I saw in the Hautpoul Manuscript illumination drawing on the page from The Book of Tobit. This is the actual illustration to that page, the artist used gold leaf for the background.

The Tobit Illumination

"Tobie" the book of Tobit illumination from the French auction house. Here is the document that was enclosed in the Tobit page envelope, a 1782 copy of the Bugarach contract of 1307.

It is a "T" and the first word is "Tobias". The page is creased at the top - the folded Hautpoul manuscript page. Norman Romanesque style. Marvelous medieval bird.
